It was okay but terrible long queues, a long wait for fresh vegetables and Yorkshire puddings hence the meat on the plate was going cold along with any veg that had been added to it. An awful lot of food debris littered about the food section making it look unhygienic. Staff carving the meat and “burying” fat and unsavoury pieces of meat underneath the “ nicer” slices, and by 6.45pm they had run out of Turkey, this happened on our last visit too, except it was beef and Turkey that time . This is our 2nd visit of late and this one was to give the restaurant the benefit of doubt. We visited on this occasion with family to celebrate my husbands 74th birthday but on seeing the terrible food mess on the carvery table and being taken for mugs with the meat debris instead of decent slices has left us in no doubt that spot checks need to carried out on what could be a very nice restaurant. The staff were running around like headless chickens and worked exceptionally hard in fairness to them.

The carvery is beautiful and plentiful,4 choices of meat all cooked and presented wonderful, the carvery chef never scrimps on the portions and the veg and gravy are all kept topped up.It would be better if children were not allowed to the carvery area as they often touch and cough over the food,it gives me the chills and i and many others have left the restaurant on more than one occasion after whitnessing this.

Excellent service and good roast... Everything a carvery should be... However the property does seem to be a bit tired.. Needs upgrading, carpets and upholstery have seen better days...
