Specialising in wood-fired meats, day-boat fish and signature corn tacos, temper Covent Garden is one of London’s most exciting barbecue restaurants, championing 'whole animal' cooking to minimise wastage. The rustic wood oven sits in the centre of the open kitchen, and is offset by cool, contemporary design and a grey & cobalt blue colour palette.
Offsetting its time-honoured cooking methods, the temper menu embraces innovation with its recipes and flavour combinations. Enjoy succulent beef skewers with kimchi or porchetta & almond mole from the grill, or taco fillings like goat, and soft shell crab.
The open kitchen at temper restaurant in London is surrounded by counter-style seating: offering full views of the chefs in action. There is also a carefully compiled list of world wines, beers and playful house cocktail concoctions.
Tucked away off the main throng on the quiet Mercer Walk, temper Covent Garden also boasts an outdoor terrace for relaxed summertime dining. Covent Garden Tube Station is a 2-minute walk away.

I took my partner here for his birthday, and had a lovely night. The service was fantastic, I believe we were served by a floor manager or GM. He was really attentive and made the birthday feel special. Many thanks to the team.

The Supper club menu is such a good deal, very affordable and the food and dining experience is still top notch. The waiting staff were very attentive and I can’t fault it one bit. Thank you

We came here to try the new Sunday lunch menu. We found the service was slow even though the restaurant was only one quarter full. The meat and vegetables were tasty but the Yorkshire pudding and gravy were both lukewarm. It could because they have just started this Sunday service and had made too much food. I like the style of restaurant and would consider going back for an evening meal but probably leave the Sunday lunch option

I visited Temper (Covent Garden) in June for the Pizza & Wine deal. I told the waiter that I have a severe nut allergy. He explained that it wasn't a problem- none of the pizzas contained any nuts or traces and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening. I was really excited to return with some work colleagues last month. I explained to the waiter once again that I have a severe allergy and he went to refer this to a manager (I will say the waiter was really polite and helpful). A manager then came over and said that they could not guarantee that any of the food was allergen free and therefore I would be unable to eat there 'because of the issue with Byron'. I asked if any of the pizza's contained nuts. He said no. I asked if there were nuts in the kitchen. He said no, but they could not guarantee the ingredients that were bought in were all nut free. I explained that no restaurant can confirm this 100%- I can't even guarantee this when I cook for myself at home! So that wouldn't be a problem and I would be happy to eat there. He then said "well you clearly don't have a severe allergy then". I definitely do as I've lived with it for my whole life and carry an epi pen at all times! He then said something to the effect of "on your head be it". He also used the excuse that he had spoken to the owner who told him to refuse to serve me, which was bizarre as there was no owner in sight... I was so disappointed with the way this was dealt with in front of a busy table of my colleagues. I felt extremely embarrassed. I understand the industry is worried because of recent events and you do have to be really careful. I just think this could have been dealt with in a much better way, his manner was very negative and not understanding in the slightest.

Lovely pizzas, house wine was ok and service was friendly. Found it strange that the restaurant closed at 7pm on a Sunday night in Covent Garden.

Hi! We visited Temper covent garden for my husband's birthday. We did the unlimited pizza and wine deal. I did this about 1 month ago with a friend for her birthday and it was absolutely amazing! This time for my husband's birthday it was still good, but the pizza had changed. The portions were smaller (which is fine, as it's unlimited!), but what was once my favourite pizza (the beef/bone marrow pizza) seemed to have a completely different recipe. It wasn't as good. The beef was not very nice and smaller bits, and the bone marrow wasn't cooked through and was cold in the middle, so we barely got any marrow. I think they must have a new chef or have changed the way of cooking their meats. The overall experience was still good, as there were other good pizzas and the staff is nice, but was a little sad about the changed pizza.

Amazing experience from start to finish. I have previously visited the Soho branch so already had high expectations and Covent Garden did not disappoint. The bottomless BBQ and summer cocktails is a great deal! No compromise on the quality of the food and the cocktails were delicious too. As it was our anniversary we even received a complimentary dessert too which was a lovely touch! All staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be returning

Service was amazing. Our waitress was a credit to the restaurant. Friendly, helpful and good fun. Pizzas were delicious but very filling so definitely didn’t eat that much. Wine wasn’t cold so that was the only negative.
